Alyssa Holston
Alyssa is a senior studying Environmental Science with a minor in biology at the UO. Alyssa has extensive field work experience in plant identification, tree inventory, data management, and wildlife inventories. She is also further passionate about dendrology, forest ecosystems, and plant pathology. Through ELP Alyssa has continued growing her fieldwork skills along with developing new skills related to soil science. Alyssa plans to continue education both in academic and professional roles in the future following graduation.

Ashley Hopfer

Ashley is a senior pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics and Earth Science. Ashley plans on continuing her education following her undergrad by attending Law School. Ashley is passionate about environmentalism and hopes to work in policy and regulation for sustainable agriculture following her education. Her time with the Environmental Leadership Program has allowed her to gain a better understanding of soil science as well as leadership experience, fieldwork, and environmental management, all skills which will be useful in her future career endeavors.

Arushi Singhal

Arushi is a senior majoring in Environmental Science with a life science focus and has minors in Biology, Sustainable Business, and Computer Science. The ELP program has given her more insight into the topics of carbon sequestration and helped her practice her skills in the realms of ecology and botany. Arushi plans to apply to grad school in the future in the field of bioinformatics and is excited about continuing to be part of ecological research and data analysis.

Blake Nash-Laboe
​
​Blake Nash-Laboe is a senior Environmental Science student with a minor in Earth Sciences and Geography at UO. He has worked in multiple fields of Earth and Environmental Science through teaching and research. His studies have primarily been centered on the natural and physical sciences, such as topics including climatology, geology, hydrology, and volcanology. Through the ELP, Blake has learned more about soil and atmosphere interactions along with different methods of carbon sequestration. Following graduation, Blake intends to go to graduate school for atmospheric science and hopes to pursue a career in meteorology.

Connor Duignan

Connor is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies with minors in Planning Public Policy Management and Legal Studies at UO. His focus is on sustainable legislation and renewable energy laws. The majority of his field and class work is centered around environmental science, geography, city planning, and legal studies. Through the ELP he has gained valuable insight into the soil ecosystem and the proper methods and tools associated with it. After graduating Connor hopes to apply his knowledge to the field of sustainable city planning and legal code.

Domenic DiGiulio
Domenic is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies. He has primarily focused on Earth sciences including Geomorphology and Hydrology, with an interest in clean energy and sustainable agriculture. His research as a student at the University of Oregon has been devoted to finding achievable solutions to threatening climate-related issues. As a member of the ELP he has gained a valuable skillset in project management, learned the appropriate measures for conducting soil science experiments, and how to meticulously collect field data. After graduation, Domenic plans to apply his abilities to enter the field of environmental consulting.

Graham Yotsuya
​
Graham is a fourth-year student in Environmental Science and a minor in Geography. Graham is involved in field-based conservation work with environmental justice and critical sustainability practices, for instance, by coordinating student-led restoration efforts around Eugene. Through the ELP, Graham has learned about a wide range of field surveying protocols but has primarily focused on soil science. Post graduation, Graham will be working in Crater Lake National Forest for the summer, after which intends to pursue a career in environmental consulting.

Jack Blackburn
​
Jack is a 4th-year student from Eugene, Oregon studying Environmental Science with a minor in Sociology. He grew up largely outside playing football, along with fishing and golfing with his family. He later found his calling when he enrolled in the Rachel Carson program in high school, a program primarily focused on the Earth and its systems. He’s spent the last four years at the U of O as an Evans Scholar where he has acted as Chapter President and filled other executive positions in hopes to expand his leadership and communication skills. He is very thankful for all of his education that has led up to being a part of the UO ELP and hopes that this hands-on experience will help him in his pursuit of a career that will conserve Earth’s natural systems and its inhabitants.

Jenny Ho

Jenny is a senior majoring in Environmental Science with experience in environmental health and safety, field work involving identification skills, and environmental mapping using GIS. The skills that she has adapted during her undergraduate years will further support her goal of bettering the atmosphere. By being in the ELP program, she’s able to put her skills to practice in the topics of carbon sequestration. Through this program, Jenny is hoping to expand her skills by having experiences in as many categories that are present in environmental science has to offer her.

Renny Savage

Renny is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Public Policy, Planning, and Management. She has a focus on renewable energy policy and sustainability with interests in energy efficiency and data science. Her coursework has provided her with essential skills in environmental science, physics, environmental policy, GIS, and more. Through her participation in ELP, she has furthered her skills in environmental science and data analysis which she hopes to transfer into a future career in climate change adaptation after graduation.

Zoë Ward

Zoë is a senior Environmental Science student with experience working with environmental and outdoor education, sustainable agriculture, and ecological fieldwork and restoration. Through a mix of fieldwork and lab analysis during ELP, Zoë has gained a more in-depth understanding of soils, emerging climate solutions, and environmental management. Zoë is excited to continue growing these skills through fieldwork and research positions and eventually by pursuing a graduate degree. In the meantime, Zoë will be guiding wilderness trips in Yosemite this summer and sharing the rich geology, ecology, and history of the Sierra.
